Game Day Earrings

  College football is only a day away!  In my house it's the most exciting time (well besides Christmas...and Halloween).  Of course I get my "gear" on which consists of a super cute shirt or hoodie but I have never been a big accessories.  Don't get me wrong I am not knocking them and honestly I do think that they are cute but I can't pull it off.  However, one day while I was messing around with my jewelry supplies I came across some loop earrings and seed beads.  I thought that I would try to make simple earrings with my favorite sports team colors.  They were easy and quick.  I made 8 pairs in like 5 minutes.  Here is how I did it.

What you need:
1.  Loop earrings
2.  Seed beads
3.  Needle nose pliers

How I did it:
1.  Take a pair of earrings and thread your desired color of beads onto the loop
2.  Take your pliers and at the open end (opposite end of the eyelet) and bend the end to make a hook

3.  Then hook it into the eyelet and you have earrings.

Sweatshirt Vest

   Fall is fast approaching and there are so many cute clothes out there.  I was in a store a couple months ago and saw this sweatshirt vest.  Basically it looked like a zip up sweatshirt with no arms.  Super cute but it was $68 or so.  Um, no I can make that.  So I did and here's how.

  What you need:
1.  No sew fabric glue- Aleen's Stretchable Flexable Fabric Glue
2.  A sweatshirt
3.  Scissors
4.  Measuring tape


  How I did it:
1.  I took my sweatshirt and made sure that the seam of the arms for the front and back lined up when I lied it flat on the table.
2.  I measure a 1/2 inch from the seam and drew a line and cut off the arms.

3.  After I cut off the sleeves I turned the sweater inside out then used my No Sew Fabric Glue and pressed down.  I made sure that you could still see the seam on the outside of the sweater so it looks like you sewed it that way.

 
  You have to let the glue dry for a bit but once it's glued you are set.  It is amazing stuff and you could make a lot of projects with it.  I hope you guys like it.  Warning: my before picture looks like my sweater is a darker color but it's only because of the lighting.

Sunglasses: My own take a Chanel

  Chanel has a pair of sunglasses that ,to be frank, are extremely cute!  However, the price tag isn't.  They have bows on the sides, a perfect simple accent.  So I decided that I would make my own.  I ventured out and found my sunglasses and bows.  I ended up using earrings for my bows.  I just broke off the back posts and glued them to the sides with E6000.

  I've seriously thought about doing this to a couple more pair of my sunglasses.  Maybe with hearts or flowers.  Whatever floats your boat.

I Can Fix it: Dirty and Hair clinging to your dust pan?

   Every time I sweep I always have dirt, pet fur and hair clinging to the dust pan after I dump it in the trash.  But I solved this with a dryer sheet.  I wiped it down with a dryer sheet and voila!  No more clinging.

Fourth of July Outfit of the Day

  Every year for the past 3 years I have wore this same dress.  I know, boring right?  However I love this dress and it is so comfortable.  Where I live the 4th of July is the breaking point in the weather and it always seems to be the hottest day.

Outfit Of The Day: Blushing Gold

  I wanted to share a week of outfit of the day's with you.  Then at the end of the week I will post a video of how I plan my wardrobe.
  Todays outfit was inspired by the shirt I am wearing.  That is usually how I create an outfit.  I find a piece of jewelry or a pair of shoes and base an entire outfit around it.

Pants:  Hollister skinnies (I can't remember but I know I got them on sale)

  I swear I am a super cheap shopper.  Everything I buy tends to either be on clearance or a sale.  When I shop I buy for year round MOST of the time.  No not every time but I want a variety and pieces I can depend on all the time.

From This to That: New Kicks!

  White isn't my color but for some reason I buy the things that will get dirty so quickly, like shoes and purses.  A couple years ago I bought a pair of white canvas Vans.  I loved them for about 20 minutes then I got them dirty.  Same thing with this cute white duffel bag purse from Old Navy.  I have had to wash them after every use.  So I decided I wasn't going to take it any more and I bought some Rit Dye.   Fuchsia for that matter, I my as well make a statement.
   The directions are extremely easy and the process was too.  You have several different options,either in the washer, a sink or bucket, or a pot on the stove.  I chose to dye my shoes and purse in a 5 gallon bucket in my bathroom tub.   Just follow the instructions of which ever one you choose.  I couldn't take pictures of the entire process because my hands were wet and my camera man was taking a nap. The dye washes out easily as long as you rinse your bucket or tub right away.   So without further ado here are my pics.
 
My steps:


  First I dissolved my dye in 2 cups of hot water.  Then I filled my bucket 3/4 (3 gallons) full of HOT water.  Before I put my dye mix into the bucket I placed my shoes and my purse in the the bucket and made sure that they were soaked.  Then I added the dye mix.  Using gloves I stirred my shoes and purse around in the bucket for about 10 minutes.  Then I rinsed each piece starting out with hot water and gradually taking it to warm water.  Finally I hand washed them in mild detergent and laid them out to dry outside.
